Galerie Azur Exhibition, Spa (Belgium)

Exhibition from April 12 to June 8 inclusive

Juan Ripollés, a Spanish artist born in 1932, unfolds before our eyes a unique, poetic, and colorful universe with a thousand faces. Inspired by the human figure and nature, he exercises his talent with a wide variety of techniques and materials.
Orphaned at a young age, he worked throughout his childhood to feed his family and, by chance, found himself in the studio of an industrial painter where he discovered painting and made it his own.

Initially self-taught, he later took drawing courses at the Ribalta Institute in Castellón to perfect his skills.

Influenced by Picasso, Ripollés managed to find his own unique language, full of dreaminess and irony, characteristic of his subjects.

These have oversized heads placed on top of tiny bodies, a way of highlighting the four senses that, for him, are at the center of human beings.
